Description

Class Experience

Students will practice analyzing texts. Students will practice articulating their thoughts and sharing those thoughts with others. Students will practice following characters and plot lines throughout multiple books and story arcs. Students will learn new vocabulary, character motivations, character development, story elements, and comprehension skills.
Students need to read the books before class.
Having the book we are discussing in that class could be helpful, but not completely necessary.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
**Please note that the second book of this series focuses on a building conflict between two different people groups, which almost leads to a war. We will be discussing how having a closed mind and poor communication can amplify conflicts and problems between people, whereas good communication and an open mind can help someone get to the truth of a conflict and resolve the issue before it develops into something as cruel as a war.
