Description
Class Experience
This one-time ESL-friendly class is great for nature lovers who want to improve their vocabulary, reading fluency, and reading comprehension skills. We will follow the cats as they go on a garden adventure and meet an interesting toad who lives there. Students will find out some fascinating science facts about toads as we go through the story! We will start with a review of six vocabulary words that are important to the story. We will practice pronunciation and check for understanding....
Through reading aloud and using the story map to think about what they've read, students will add to their vocabulary and improve their reading fluency and comprehension. They will learn some science facts about toads and other creatures as well.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
