The Cats Meet a Butterfly: Reading Comprehension With Pumpkin and Marigold

In this one-time ESL/EFL-friendly class, we will read an original short story, practice vocabulary words, and use a story map to practice reading comprehension. At the end of class, we will learn how to draw a cute butterfly.

Description

Class Experience

This one-time reading class is suitable for ESL/EFL students at an intermediate English level of B1 and up. 
This is a great class for students who want to improve their vocabulary and reading comprehension skills and who also love cats and nature!
* Before reading we will review six words that are important to the story. We will practice pronunciation and go over meanings.
* Then we will read our story and follow the cats as they go on a garden adventure and meet a special butterfly. Reading...

Students will get to practice their reading and pronunciation skills. They will also sharpen their reading comprehension skills as we use a story map to review what we've read. Our story map will focus on characters, setting, summarization, and sequence of events.

Paper, pencils, crayons, or markers for drawing time.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
