Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
I have over twenty years of experience working with and teaching students. I have a bachelor's degree in both History and Economics, which included studies in the Middle Ages, History of Latin America, History of Africa, History of South Asia, History of Native Peoples of North America, and many other topics. My master's degree is in Higher Education. I also have a Juris Doctorate degree in Law. Most importantly, I have a passion for teaching, history in particular!
Each week, a video will be posted in the classroom for the learners to view on their own. ***There is not a live class.*** Students will also receive a homework assignment each week that the learners can share with each other in the classroom. A Kahoot! quiz will be posted each week in the classroom.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
During this class, there will be discussions about the poor treatment of immigrants from Asia and Native Americans. Native Americans were greatly affected by the influx of people into California, including violence against Native Americans. If any insensitive comments are made in the Outschool classroom, the comment will be addressed and then the teacher will redirect the discussion.
