Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3

Each week, we'll enjoy a fun and engaging read-aloud, followed by interactive comprehension activities related to the book. This club is perfect for young readers who love stories, creativity, and making new friends! Each session will introduce new vocabulary, helping learners expand their language skills in a meaningful way. They will develop listening and comprehension skills while exploring key story elements such as characters, setting, and problem-solving. Through guided discussions, they will make connections between the story and their own experiences, deepening their understanding of the text. Additionally, creative expression will be encouraged through hands-on activities, making reading a fun and immersive experience. Learning Goals

Students will be able to develop and demonstrate understanding of key ideas and details. Students will actively listen to read-alouds and engage in discussions to ask and answer questions about key story elements, such as characters, setting, and events.

Expand vocabulary and language skills through meaningful exposure to new words. Students will learn and use new vocabulary words from each book, using context clues and discussion to deepen their understanding.

Behind the Little Red Door

 Written by Coy Bowles, this book is a delightful story that sparks creativity and imagination. In this session, we’ll use the book as a gateway to explore all the exciting possibilities that summer holds. Through discussion and activities, students will unlock their own 'little red doors,' dreaming up adventures, goals, and creative ideas for the months ahead.

 Written by Gaia Cornwall, this book is a heartwarming story about perseverance, patience, and teamwork. We will explore how trying new things, even when they feel challenging, can lead to exciting discoveries. Students will reflect on the importance of problem-solving, collaboration, and having a growth mindset when facing obstacle.
