This class aims to engage participants in a comprehensive exploration of "The Boxcar Children Book 3" by Gertrude Chandler Warner. Through weekly discussions, activities, and reflections, participants will deepen their understanding of the characters, plot, themes, and literary elements in the book. Class Schedule: Seven Weekly Sessions: Week 1: Introduction and Chapters 1-2 Week 2: Chapters 3-4 Week 3:Chapters 5-6 Week 4: Chapters 7-8 Week 5: Chapters 9-10 Week 6:Chapters 11-12 and Conclusion Week 7: Final thoughts and reflections on the entire book. Creative project or presentation based on the book. Week 1: Introduction and Setting the Stage Introduction to the author and the Boxcar Children series. Overview of the class structure and expectations. Brief discussion on the background and setting of "The Boxcar Children Book 3." Week 2-3: Characters and Initial Plot Elements In-depth exploration of the main characters introduced in the initial chapters. Analysis of the plot elements, conflicts, and the story's inciting incident. Group discussions on the characters' motivations and relationships.# Week 4-5: Plot Development and Themes Progressing through the middle of the book, focusing on key plot developments. Identification and analysis of themes in the story. Analytical activities exploring how characters respond to challenges. Week 6: Climax and Turning Points Discussion of the climax and major turning points in the narrative. Evaluation of how characters evolve and face challenges.
