Description
Class Experience
In this class we will explore the world of people writers, musicians, and actors. We will discuss their childhood, their influences, and what they did that left a mark on history. We will discuss the differences between them, and how the time period that they lived shaped their lives. No previous knowledge of these people or events is needed.
I have always had a passion for history and feel that learning about living people from history is a great place to start. I have taught this course for over 2 years on Outschool for different age groups, always with the goal of showing multiple perspectives and opening up children's mind to explore new places and events in history. Please message me if you have any questions or concerns.
Each week, students will be given 1-2 options for homework. This may include exploring music outside of class, performing their own compositions, creating art or short stories, or watching a short youtube video and sharing their thoughts.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There may be discussions about discrimination, violence, and death, but these will be handled in an age appropriate manner. We will be discussing The Holocaust and why certain people were persecuted during WWII.
