The Beatles History and Art Club!
Each week, teens will meet together to listen to a Beatles song and create an art piece about it in their journal or sketchbook! This is a fun class where students can relax and create together!

Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will practice their musical listening skills and creative process in this fun club!
I taught K-8 art the last two years, hold a BA in Art from UC Santa Cruz, a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UC Santa Cruz, and a Master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.
There is no homework in this class, however, if students don’t finish a prompt during the work time, they are more than welcome to continue it after class ends, but this is not mandatory.
Bring a sketchbook, journal or other “artistic surface” to create on each along with your favorite art supplies to class each week! Still stuck on what to bring? Here’s a good jumping point: -a journal or sketchbook at least 8x10” in size. -acrylic paints -sharpies -collage materials such as old book pages, magazine pages, and found paper items -glue stick and/or mod-podge -whatever else you enjoy creating with!
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This is a social club and there is a chance that a learner might share something that your child or you are uncomfortable with. I will mitigate these situations, but please be advised that students of this age occasionally overshare. Since this class utilizes art tools, students have the potential to injure themselves, for example, cutting themselves with scissors. This club requires students to bring their favorite art supplies, so if there is a supply you are not comfortable allowing your learner to use (like a hot glue gun for example), you do not need to give it to them. Future songs are updated on the class description 4 weeks out. If there is a Beatles song you do not want your child to listen to, they do not need to attend that week.
A Spotify account is useful for listening to the song of the week. Most songs can also be found on YouTube. I will post YouTube links to songs each week.
