The Basics of Notetaking

This course will be an introductory course on how to take notes that you can understand, and that you can learn from. We will be focusing on formatting because I believe this is key to organizing your notes!

Class Experience

Student will learn to take notes using their resources at home. We will start with why note taking is so important for school, day-to-day, and for self-organization. We will then move onto the basics of taking notes, and how to organize each section to achieve notes that are easy for the child to understand themselves. It will be hands-on as we try out activities that provide practice for each type of notetaking that we learned.

Supply List
Students will need a notebook OR any blank sheet of paper, and a pen/pencil. They may choose to have colored pens or pencils as well if they believe that color-coding will keep them more organized or invested.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am offering this class because I very much enjoy organization. I excel in school and at work when I have my notes in the way that I can easily understand them. I am a student in college so I have experience on what kind of notes works best for specific students.
