In this class, learners will be using the spooky writing prompt, 'The basement door slowly creaked open...' to begin their creative writing stories. In this class students will learn about and practice writing a creative story. We will go over the five story elements; characters, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. Students will also practice revising their stories by looking for basic words that can be improved to add more detail and context to their stories. (For example, changing the...
Students will learn about the the five different elements of a story; characters, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. Students will take these elements and create a story following the spooky writing prompt as stated.
Students will need a notebook, a writing utensil, OR students may use a computer or device where they are able to type their story.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
