In this ongoing club, learners will meet 1x/week to share pictures or videos of wildlife they found in their backyards, learn about various animals in the animal kingdom, and have fun talking with friends about their backyard adventures.

In this ongoing social club, learners will have fun exploring their backyards to video or picture various wildlife they find. Wildlife can include any type of animal: bugs or insects, spiders, lizards, snakes, birds, frogs, etc... Learners will be asked to share the image/video they took, what type of animal they found (insect, amphibian, reptile, etc), a fun fact about the animal they found, and anything else they would like to share. For assistance in identification of an animal (I.e. type...
Learners will be introduced to basic research, as they look up what type of animal they found and a fun facts about it. Coloring pages of the animal kingdom will be provided prior to class to help learners identify the type of animal they found. Learners will gain experience in public speaking as they share images, videos, and facts about the animal they found. Learners will also learn about various wildlife that can be found in their very own backyards. Learners will gain a basic understanding of different animal types, and learn fun facts about the animals shared.
Learners will explore nature, with supervision from parent/guardian for safety, to find various animals, taking pictures/videos to share, and researching what type of animal they found and fun facts to share about the animal they found. Learners will be asked to identify what type of animal they found (bugs or insects, spiders, lizards, snakes, birds, frogs, etc...). For help with identification of the type of animal (i.e. type of insect, type of bird...), please message me an image prior to our club meeting.
Learners will need to take a picture or video of the animal they found to share with the club.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
A 14 page animal phyla coloring book will be available for download to help in identification of animals.
