Join me in this book club as we join Kristy and her friends Claudia, Stacey, and Mary Anne in their adventures with the Baby-Sitters Club. This will also be a fun way to sharpen your reading comprehension skills, make inferences, and engage with your peers. You'll be sure to fall in love with this book series! Prior to the start of each class, learners will need to read 3 chapters. During our sessions, we will dive a little deeper into our story through teacher-led discussions and activities related to the chapters read. This book club is a great opportunity for your child to sharpen their reading comprehension skills, gain insight from others’ perspectives, and have a fun time reading an unforgettable book series. There are many more books in this series that your child will be sure to enjoy. **Learners will need a copy of the book The Baby-Sitters Club: Kristy’s Great Idea by Ann M. Martin (the original story not the graphic novel). **PDF file of journal discussion questions will be attached to the classroom after our first meeting. Please print or use separate paper to write answers down. We will share our answers with the group. Reading Schedule: (Please do not read ahead of our schedule so that we can all enjoy the story together.) Main character is a 7th grader, so bras, boys, and diets are mentioned in the story.
Divorce is mentioned briefly - Dad is remarried and “doesn’t pay much child support”.
Language: “stupid”, “dumb”, “shut-up” mentioned briefly.

Ideas for finding the book include Amazon, Walmart, Target, libraries, audio, or used book store.
