Your questions are important to me so I want to answer you well. Also note, I do respond throught the day Saturdays, but Sundays are designated family time so I may not get your note until after Monday courses begin. I apologize ahead of time for any inconvenience. Thank you!>
Hello! My name is Taylor. I have been teaching for over 14 years. In high school I fell in love with language -- French to be exact. By my senior year I noticed my passion had split between the study of languages and the culinary culture of the language I had studied so much. I triple majored to pursue teaching, culinary arts, and English language studies.
In the past decade I have had the honor to teach Culinary Arts (including baking, fondant, confections, and traditional French cuisine), Secondary English, English as a Second Language, Readind and Phonics, Career Planning, College Readiness, and Life Skills (including budgeting, becoming dept free, and common household maintenance). I love to teach. I have been teaching in the online classroom for just over 6 years collectively. I have experience teaching public school (9th-12th grades), votech (vocational technology school for learners over 18 years old), and 100% online (for students aged 2-18).
I am a visual and kinetic learner; therefore, I tend to teach towards these styles. I always integrate lecture into my classes also, but "monkey see/ monkey do" is my undying approach to education. I feel student interaction builds a class. It is my goal to make whatever I am teaching relevant to my students so that they never leave a class thinking "when will I ever use this?"
I look forward to class with your student.
