Beginner Level
This is a onetime mini class to introduce the world of designing with sustainability in mind as well as give the learner a way to try out sewing and see if they would like to dive into a more deeper context of sewing. I will be teaching students to sew patches by machine/hand onto items they already have to upstyle any garment or accessory. The topics I will cover will be topics of sustainability, upstyling and color blocking We will meet via zoom for 1 hour and begin with me introducing upstyling ideas by using scraps of fabric to redesign an already garment or create a patchwork piece to start a garment. I will demonstrate step by step sewing techniques as the learner follow along at their sewing machine. My style of teaching is very detailed, I will be emphasizing how paying attention to details are important when wanting to stay accurate and neat. I am patient with learners and I love to see progress more than perfection. Learners will be able to interact with me through the zoom classroom, email and extra video demos.
