Class Experience

Get ready for a power hour!

Every class is a little different depending on how many students show up, and what kind of speakers we have in the group.

Some speakers are shy and we definitely welcome that. Some speakers like to talk so much I have to cut them off and take back control of the meeting. Excellent! I love it.

Some speakers like to write things down and others like to freestyle, everybody is welcome.

One thing is for sure, and that is that you are going to walk away with new knowledge about public speaking. You are going to practice using structure, hook phrases, storytelling techniques, and we have body language exercises to get us started each class.

This is a small class so that everybody gets a chance to participate.

If students like this class then I have a program I'd like to offer to our young leaders.

I love what I do and look forward to meeting you.

Learning Goals

The goal is to learn one skill that you remember for a lifetime (weekend). Some students remember the SEE Factor, others remember something about body language, vocal variety, or energy. What will you remember?

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and welcome,

I'm a public speaking coach with experience training kids from grades 2-12.

I didn't plan on being a coach when I joined a speaking community called Toastmasters International in 2010, but I discovered I wasn't very good at speaking. I had to go on a journey reading books, interviewing professionals, and getting evaluations. As my speaking game elevated I became a Distinguished Toastmaster, won speaking contests, hosted events, and people started asking for advice. I showed them my simple practice exercises, and that led to a full-time coaching career.

When Covid came along I had to move my business online and I love it. You don't learn to be an effective speaker by being scared out of your mind in front of an audience. You learn through perfect practice. I'm going to show you the perfect practice exercises the professionals use on a daily basis. Then, we'll enroll you in an event!

Fun fact: when I started speaking I drew eyes on paper and hung them around my living room. I recorded speeches for my audience daily and not once did they laugh at my jokes!
