The Art of Pokemon: How to Draw Mimikyu

In this Drawing class, students will learn how to draw a popular Pokemon character named Mimikyu. Mimikyu is full of shapes and lines, so before drawing begins, we will review and practice the shapes and lines that will help us draw Mimikyu. These include: circle, oval, rectangle, triangle, horizontal line, vertical line, and zigzag lines. After reviewing the shapes and lines, students will be guided step by step to complete a drawing of Mimikyu. The teacher will model each step with the students throughout the process. Learners will be assisted by the teacher to use basic drawing techniques, like sketching and outlining. Teacher will demonstrate simplified drawing techniques for less experienced illustrators as well as more advanced techniques for more experiences illustrators. Students will be encouraged to ask questions if needed in order to gain confidence in their artistic abilities. Students are always encouraged to be creative and make their drawings unique! If time allows at the end of class, students will be able to color their pictures and share their drawings with the class. For an extension activity, the teacher and students can have an engaging discussion about Pokemon and share interesting facts about Mimikyu.
