Class Experience

If you have never drawn an optical illusion before and you are ready to put your math skills to work you can draw amazing illusions in this class while also practicing essential math skills!

Lesson 1 The Necker Cube
In this lesson, learners begin with their first optical illusion, the Necker Cube. This historical piece dates back to the early 1800s and is one of the first popular optical illusions and is a great way for students to explore perspective in geometry!

Lesson 2 The Impossible Trident
In the second lesson, learners will move to a more advanced drawing that will require precise measurement and focus. Impossible objects are a fun set of illusions that we can draw and yet they cannot actually exist in the real world!

With degrees in Math, Music and Education, I have been teaching students for over thirty years.

I teach classes that offer learners a chance to experience the creative side of math by putting theory into practice to design things like dragons, anime characters, castles and more. My classes are activity-based and encourage students to learn through hands-on projects that mimic real life math-in-action done by architects, engineers and designers.
