Description
Class Experience
Several chemistry principles to include: chemical reactions, absorption, separation of materials, and elasticity. Several botany lessons, including: the two main classes of trees, basic leaf anatomy, and why leaves change color in autumn.
Some classes will require prep work prior to class beginning. Such work may include cutting materials ahead of time so they are ready to assemble during class.
Most activities will require: a pencil, scissors, cardstock, coloring implements, and glue. A specific supply list will be sent several days before each class begins. A few activities require special items like a wooden dowel and spool (3D Evergreen), coarse kosher salt (Homemade Ice Cream), watercolor paper and black acrylic paint (Fall Leaves), watercolor markers (Chromatology), and food GEL and mod podge (clay leaf bowl).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Most activities will be completed during the class time. However a couple activities may need to dry overnight or require cutting to prep for the class. Also, parental guidance is required for the use of scissors.
