Just in time for the 4th of July, we'll learn the history of and how to draw the Statue of Liberty, complete with fireworks!

First we'll see what our students already know about Lady Liberty, then watch a short video about the history of the Statue (did you know she was actually a gift to celebrate the emancipation of slaves and the end of the Civil War?) We'll fill a paper with fireworks using oil pastels (or good crayons) and add a watercolor resist. On another sheet, we will draw a simplified Statue of Liberty following step-by-step instructions.
