Description
Class Experience
Learners will improve their writing by practicing different methods and genres. Learners will practice poems, short stories, informative essays, opinion essays, and persuasive essays.
I have a BA in Creative Writing. I am revising and editing my first novel and drafting my second novel. I love writing and I love teaching writing. I have taught many writing lessons to elementary school students and have tutored in writing as well (elementary through high school).
Learners will be expected to complete a final draft of their writing and turn it in as homework. Learners can expect to spend at least an hour a week on homework. Some writing styles or prompts may take longer than others.
Teacher will provided handouts and graphic organizers. Learners will need writing materials - either computer with microsoft word, google docs, etc OR learners may hand write their ideas and submit through scanning
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are expected to contribute to the best of their ability. Learners will be assessed on their participation in discussions. Learners will be assessed by assignments turned in to the teacher. Written feedback will be given for each assignment. A Letter Grade will be given BY REQUEST A Written Report and/or explanation of learners progress will be given BY REQUEST.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Single Learner Classes: - Single learner classes will go ahead as scheduled unless learner and family request otherwise.
