Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the basic architectural elements used in the design of a house including, doors, windows, roof, porch, floor, stairs, walls, lighting, and furniture.
I am a practicing architectural designer in the world of residential design. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Design and a Master's Degree in Architecture. I have been sharing my passion of architecture through architectural camps and classes for children since 1999.
The students will participate in a group discussion, however, each student will complete their own individual house design. Adequate time will be allotted for students to complete their design. Should students choose to add to their design after class, I encourage them to let the creativity continue to flow.
Students shall provide the following: - 1 sheet white 8 1/2 x 11 paper - scissors (*If your child is not comfortable with scissors, parents are asked to help with cutting). - crayons, markers, or colored pencils (Parents can choose what medium would be best for their child)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be encouraged throughout the class to participate and complete their work. No formal grade will be given.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental Guidance is advised when students are asked to use scissors.
