By popular demand... it's The Animal Guessing Game!

If your learners are obsessed with Wild Kratts and nature documentaries, then this class is made just for them. In this game-style class designed specifically for kids who LOVE animals, we put their knowledge to the test.

For each class, I will select a series of animals for your learner to explore. For each animal, your learner will use up to 10 yes/no questions and 5 hints from me to identify the animal in question. After the animal is identified, we will explore photos, videos, GIFs, and lots of fun facts.

While this class might just seem like fun and game, The Animal Guessing Game allows us to explore a wide variety of life science topics, such as...

Vertebrates & Invertebrates: Does this animal have any bones?
Animal Classification: Is this animal a mammal? Bird? Reptile?
Ecosystems: Does this animal live in the desert? Rainforest? Ocean?
Thermoregulation: Is this animal cold-blooded or warm-blooded?
Taxonomy: Is this animal related to...
Adaptations: Does this animal have sharp teeth?
Animal Behavior: Is this animal nocturnal? Diurnal?
Geography: Does this animal live in Australia?
VOCAB: We will discuss DOZENS of science vocabulary words, such as climate, habitat, range, metamorphosis, etc.

I will use a Google Slide presentation to demonstrate visuals for each animal and occasional Youtube videos. Learners will be encouraged to ask questions and share fun facts.

Should your learner join me on a regular basis, I will encourage them to select some animals for me to guess about, furthering their skillset and animal knowledge.
Learning Goals

Hi there!

My name is Sarah and I am so excited to explore wildlife, science, and conservation with your learner. I was born and raised in the Metroparks of Ohio, but I currently call the Sonoran Desert of Arizona my home.

I have had a strong love for wildlife and nature for my whole life and have built my career around it. In 2017, I graduated cum laude from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology. I am a Certified Environmental Educator in Arizona and a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation.

After college, I worked on several wildlife studies in the field studying species like the western diamondback rattlesnake, spectacled rattlesnakes, and Bahamian rock iguanas. I gained experience as an informal educator developing programs for schools and homeschool students at the Phoenix Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, South Mountain Environmental Education Center, and SeaLife Aquarium.

At the start of COVID, I founded an organization that creates wildlife and conservation STEM resources for K-8 students, including a science curriculum program that teaches core science subjects with an engaging animal twist.

My greatest objective as an educator is to make science FUN. My classes cover important science topics while using wildlife and nature as our driving forces.
