Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will build on skills such as quick thinking and creativity, along with learning or refreshing their memories on aspects of various space technologies.
Teacher Tom has been teaching Space Technology, Rocket Science, and other STEM based classes on Outschool since 2020. Tom was featured as a top educator on Outschool's EPIC Spotlight for being a Passion-Driven Educator in 2021! Tom is also a professional builder and finish carpenter who has built real-life escape rooms & a multitude of other cool STEM projects such as homemade Ham-Radio antenna's.
Complete or add to your DIY space technology build. Post a picture of your completed build in the classroom.
Your student will need access to "on the spot" supplies from the room they are assigned at the beginning of class. Typical building materials and supplies should be available to them to help with their projects such as duct tape, scissors, hot glue gun, tin foil, paint, cardboard, putty, clips, etc. Please make sure to have a discussion with your student in advance of the class about what types of materials are available for their use and which items are off- limits. Parents, siblings, and other helpers are welcome to be on stand-by to help gather supplies on the spot so long as they remain off camera as per Outschool policy. You can take a walk around your house in advance of class to brainstorm some ideas. Edible DIY projects are welcome if your assigned room is "Kitchen".
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
