Class Experience

The road the American woman walked was paved very differently from the American man's. "The Fairer Sex" dealt with hardships that seem unbearable and impossible to overcome at times. Over the course of American history, female blood has been shed for insane reasons and they were thought criminals for natural habits. Despite everything, women did come through to be inventors, doctors and more.

This class follows through the history of America as we talk about women's experiences. We will talk about the unique hardships, but will also cover the strides they took to become fantastic and historically significant.

Week 1: Founding until 1800's.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am a graduate of Mississippi State University with my Bachelors Degree in Criminology and Sociology. I completed my undergraduate studies in just 3 years and graduated in the top 1% of my college.

I am currently an ESL (English as a Second Language) educator for children between the ages of 3 and 14. I enjoy educating children in English, and I also enjoy sparking an interest in Criminology and Sociology. I love the conversations and ideas that can come from nearly any aspect of Sociology, and I love hearing children's thoughts on each subject.

My approach to learning is to allow students to think about each subject and express those thoughts. If a child can think independently on a topic, he or she has learned far more than if they were only lectures. It is better to talk with a student than talk to them.

In my personal life, I am married. My husband and I have three rescue cats and one rescue dog. I enjoy reading fiction and nonfiction books, reading comics, playing video games and cooking.
