Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about the most important moments and events of William Henry Harrison's life and presidency. With this newly-learned information, they will be able to practice their critical thinking skills by evaluating Harrison's legacy and assessing his continued impact on America today.
As a one-time class there is no homework, but students are encouraged to further explore Harrison after the class is over. The Classroom stream page remains open, and all are welcome to ask questions and/or continue our conversation.
In the days prior to the meeting, I will provide a brief handout that contains guidelines for our discussion on our Classroom page, along with a list of a handful of questions and topics I plan for us to discuss. I will also share a graphic organizer that students can choose to fill out during the lesson. In addition to students being able to practice taking notes, the organizer can be saved so students can further explore Harrison on their own.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will receive informal feedback from me during the lesson, and after the lesson concludes via the Classroom page. As time allows I will ask some trivia questions on Harrison at the end of class as well.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
