Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
1. Introductions: I will introduce myself, and ask students to tell me their names and age (if they feel comfortable sharing.)
2. We will go over online classroom expectations.
- We quietly listen to who is speaking.
- We wait patiently for our turn to speak.
- We raise our hand if we have a question or want to share something with the class.
3. Pre-read Question: What is one thing you already know about Megalodon sharks that you'd like to share? Students will use this time to share one fact they already know about Megalodon sharks. Learners are not required to share, and I promise I will never force a shy learner to speak during class. :)
4. We will begin discussion about Megalodon sharks, and I will describe facts about Megalodons to the students via PowerPoint. We will pause to discuss what we are learning and check for comprehension during this time.
5. We will answer a few review questions about what we learned if time permits. Sometimes we may skip over the review questions to have more drawing time.
6. We will draw a Megalodon shark. I encourage a lot of discussion and participation during class, so we may not have a lot of time to draw. It usually depends on how talkative and interactive students are during class.
** Sometimes my classes run a few minutes over because students are excited and want to share what they know about Megalodon sharks. If you have to leave before I officially end class, I completely understand. A class recording is provided, so your learner can always watch it to finish their drawing of the Megalodon.
** If a class time I have listed does not work for you, feel free to message me or request a time.

Learning Goals

Students will learn all about Megalodon sharks. Student will learn about the Megalodon shark's teeth, mouth, body, size, diet, and appearance. They will also practice listening comprehension and drawing skills.
