In this class, students will learn the basics of a haiku and how to write this lovely form of short poetry. The class will start with introductions followed by reading some examples of haikus. I will write a haiku in the class based on a picture to show the students a real-time example of the process. Students will learn how to write a haiku and practice writing their own based on a picture prompt. By the end of class, each student should have completed 1-2 haikus of their own.
