Class Experience
In this ongoing course, students will learn to classify and describe the characteristics of one new species of Kingdom Animalia per week in an interactive and engaging class presentation. Tentative Schedule for Upcoming Classes: Week of 1/2: Northern Cardinal Week of 1/9: Polar Bear Week of 1/16: Siamese Cat Week of 1/23: King Cobra Week of 1/30: Greenland Shark Week of 2/6: African Bullfrog Week of 2/13: Fairy Penguin Each week, we will study one new animal. We will always begin with a...
Students will learn about many different species within Kingdom Animalia. They will collect empirical data by observing animals. They will learn the levels of taxonomic classification and how a dichotomous key is used to classify a species by recording observable traits.
Students may have to complete work outside of class.
Handout Writing Utensil
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
