US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This class will meet 3 times to discover the adventures of Peter Rabbit. Each class will begin with introductions and learners having the opportunity to share their love of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. Week 1 - Week of March 11th We will read The Tale of Peter Rabbit together and learners will color/draw a picture while they listen to the story. We will work on a sentence for learners to write at the bottom of their picture. Alternatively, learners are able to draw their own picture and write a few sentences, depending on their age/grade level. Week 2 - Week of March 18th - We will discuss Peter Rabbit and his adventures in Mr. McGregor's garden. Learners will go on a "Sensory journey" while we brainstorm what Peter may have smelled, heard, saw and tasted. We will work on our social emotional skills by practicing Empathy - was Peter scared, nervous? How must he have felt to be back home with his family? - There will be a writing/drawing portion during the sensory lesson. Week 3 - Week of March 29th - We will learn more about Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. In this final class learners will make a "Peter Rabbit" bunny craft. Materials required include: paint/markers/crayons, scissors, glue and a cotton ball. Template will be provided in the classroom, but learners are more than welcome to draw their own and paint prior to class.
