The first class will be an instructor led overview of the Indiana Jones films, the characters, the locations, and the plots. Learners will be taught via slides and attachments, the tools and techniques for writing a short story. They will learn about how to develop heroes and villains, story structure and how a plot works. Examples of these elements from the Indiana Jones film series will be presented. Participation from learners will be encouraged to provide examples as well. Worksheets will...
Students will learn basic elements of creative writing, character development, plot, and story structure. They will learn to explore their creativity and story telling ability. They will learn how to present virtually over Zoom and how to engage positively with ideas and comments with others.
There aren't any sensitive topics with this subject
Worksheets will be provided with space to fill in required information, like "who is the Villain of your story?" What is the location? etc. No more than 2 pages will be required. The students will complete the worksheets(write their story) after the first class, but before the second class. There are no reading requirements.
There will be worksheets attached to the first session.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be no written or formal assessment.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Some of the movies are rated PG-13. If they haven't seen some of the movies, this might not be the right class for them.
The 4 Indiana Jones films will be the cornerstone of the source material. There are many books written about Indiana Jones that will not be covered.
