The Actor's Rehearsal Room is a class for intermediate to advanced actors to build and share their creativity and performance skills. During each class, learners will warm up with fun improv games or activities and then focus on either simple acting scenes, acting and singing a musical number, dancing to a favorite Broadway show tune, or any combination of these performance skills. Actors will be encouraged to share their ideas, creativity, and performances with classmates in a fun and engaging way, allowing student's the opportunity to pass on skills they are not ready to share with our group. The Actor's Rehearsal Room is an active class, and learners will need space to use their voices, be engaged, move, be energetic, and still be in view on their screens. Other Details
Parental Guidance
During the class actors will need to be in a relatively noise-free space, where they can sing at full voice and perform any choreography full out. Pets, television shows, and siblings are all great, but sadly background noise and distractions hinder an effective rehearsal process. Camp members are encouraged to wear clothing that is easy and comfortable to move in and a flexible tennis shoe or sneaker. Please print a water bottle each day. Younger students may need assistance during the first day of class operating Zoom features such as turning their microphone on and off during the session. Students should feel comfortable being on camera for this course as it is a visual performing arts class and will require all students to be visible on-screen at times during the rehearsal process and final performance.
Supply List
Please bring a water bottle each day. Any and all printable materials are provided by Northwest Theatre Lab and will be available in the online classroom 24-hours before class begins.
