Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their acting, vocal ability, movement, and performance skills. They will learn how to be a supportive team player, learn audience etiquette, gain confidence, and improve the communication skills.
Our acting, dance, and voice instructors have between 6-30+ years of vocal and acting training, professional musical theatre experience, and/or a BFA, BA, or MA in Music, Musical Theatre, or the Performing Arts. They have teaching experience in after school programs, theatre schools, public schools, universities, conservatories, and regional theatre programs.
There is no homework required with this class.
Please bring a water bottle each day. Any printable materials are provided by Northwest Theatre Lab and will be available in the online classroom 24-hours before class begins.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Written assessment available upon requrest.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
During the class actors will need to be in a relatively noise-free space, where they can sing at full voice and perform any choreography full out. Pets, television shows, and siblings are all great, but sadly background noise and distractions hinder an effective rehearsal process. Camp members are encouraged to wear clothing that is easy and comfortable to move in and a flexible tennis shoe or sneaker. Please print a water bottle each day. Younger students may need assistance during the first day of class operating Zoom features such as turning their microphone on and off during the session. Students should feel comfortable being on camera for this course as it is a visual performing arts class and will require all students to be visible on-screen at times during the rehearsal process and final performance.
