Description
Class Experience
The main learning goal of this course is that learners understand their places in the wider natural world and how their actions (or lack of actions) can impact the environment and its creatures. We will talk about these actions within the definition of kindness and how we can practice kindness toward the earth and its creatures. Other learning goals are that learners interact with new vocabulary words and their meaning, learn different environmental terms, and learn about how different habitats, animals, and plants are important to a healthy environment.
The only homework assigned is optional. At the end of each day’s discussion, learners will be invited to draw, paint or write about how they can practice kindness toward the topic covered in that day’s class. This will be optional homework. At the beginning of the next class, learners who did the optional homework will be invited to share their work.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
