Description
Class Experience
If you're looking for a fun and educational way to get your child ready for kindergarten, this will be the perfect class for your child. We'll be using music, nursery rhymes, circle time, fairy tales and folk tales to help your little one learn all the essential skills they need for kindergarten and beyond. Your child will be entertained and engaged throughout the entire program. I can't wait to help you give your child the best possible start to their educational journey!
I am offering this class because I have 4 children of my own, we have been reading nursery rhymes since they were babies, and I have been teaching elementary school for over 30 years, and I know what an important part these stories play in the foundations of reading.
Homework is not required, but for each lesson, there will be suggested activities to help your child with developmental skills such as tracing, cutting, gluing, and coloring. There will also be a number, color, and shape focus for each lesson.
It might be helpful for you to have your own copy of a book of nursery rhymes. Some of my favorites are The Real Mother Goose and A Chid’s Garden of Verses. But I will be reading aloud in a video format, and many of these stories are available online as well.
Included in this class will be assessment materials for you to measure your child's progress, and we can work together to find activities to help your child master the skills where they need a little more practice.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
