In this workshop, your student will develop a character in which they will fully develop to be used in multiple story starters. Students will be guided through the process using slides and discussion. In the first part of our session, our focus will be developing the character. In the second part of our session, our focus will be on character meetups in which students will introduce their character to a partner/group. It is in this meet up that the student will create story starters using the character they created as well as their partner/group. Students will work in a collaborative setting in which their creativity can soar. Students will need to have background knowledge in the elements of a narrative piece.

I am a life-long learner. I love finding professional development opportunities to help not only fine tune my teaching craft but also to gain strategies to help my students. I was named the 2022 VFW Teacher of the Year for Oklahoma. I am currently working on my Google Educator Level 2 certificate as well as becoming a National History Day coordinator for my district.
My experiences as an educator and coach help me to empower students to be true to themselves, be creative, and have fun learning. My goal is to inspire students to be creative and continue learning no matter what topic/skill they are focused on at the moment.
