That's a Wrap! Using Descriptive Language
Class experience
This class will involve a great deal of student participation and interaction between peers. I think learning should be hands-on, meaningful, and fun! It is my goal that learners will leave this class inspired to use more adjectives and adverbs in their writing. Here is the breakdown for each class: Class 1: We will talk about adjectives and adverbs and how both they can really help paint a picture in a reader's mind. Throughout class, I will unveil wrapped items after giving students clues...
Students should bring a dry erase board and marker or a notebook and writing utensil to class. We will use these to jot down some amazing adjectives and adverbs. Prior to our 2nd class, each child will choose an item and write 5+ adjectives or sentences with adjectives and adverbs to describe the item. Each child will bring their wrapped item to class. They will start by reading the trickiest clue first then finish with their easiest clue (we will practice this in the first class). The goal is for us to guess the item by the time we have all of the descriptive clues. ***Parents please make sure you have approved of the item that your child is bringing to class. Although you do not need to tell me what the item is, I will send you a message prior to our 2nd class to ensure that you have approved the item.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
