Class Experience

In this one-time course, students will review and learn basic STEM concepts including some shapes (trapezoid, rectangle, circle), parts of a ship (sails, mast, deck, etc), surface tension (suspends boat in water), high/low density in water (why a boat floats), and wind power as a source of green energy (wind blowing on masts to move the ship). Students are highly encouraged to participate in classroom discussions when called upon by the teacher. After a brief presentation at the start of class, students with be guiding through making an adorable replica sailboat/ship that will help to reinforce their learning. Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have experience teaching students ranging from grade school ages into adulthood, tutoring 1-on-1, and teaching large groups. I was a language and art/music teacher in Europe for about a year, while traveling around Europe and the UK, where students came to learn English and study various topics through theatre and play activities. In the past, I've also taught kindergarten through 5th grade students in a US public school, and I taught ESL online for nearly 3 years as a certified teacher.

I graduated in 2017 from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. I am currently studying front-end web design while working as a private tutor and website creator. In my free time, I enjoy playing music on my ukulele, travel photography, and baking. I have a passion for all forms of art and the creative process that comes with it.

Whatever my current situation may be, I feel motivated to empower young students to realize their academic and creative potential through meaningful play and personal mentorship. I am looking forward to creating fun and productive courses through Outschool and I look forward to seeing you in my classroom soon!
