Beginner - Intermediate Level
This will be a fun class where students will share what they are thankful for. Then, they will use white paper to trace their hands in a larger way so they can then write one sentence on each of the five fingers. This then becomes their graphic organizer. I will check their organizer so students can learn spelling strategies, proper punctuation and English grammar. Then, the students will color lightly on their final copy white paper to create a nice, creative and fun looking turkey of their choice. Early finishers will then take their 5 sentences and write it in paragraph form on lined paper. An example of 5 sentences might look something like this: I am thankful for many things. (This is the topic sentence/main idea.) I have thankful for my family. I am also thankful for my friends that I have in my school. I also love how I get to go to dance class every week. (Those are the three details.) I have so many things to be thankful for! (This is the conclusion.)
