To begin class, we will discuss why it is important to show appreciation to those that help us/gift us items. I will then encourage students to think of someone who recently did something for them or got them a gift. After deciding who they want to thank, I will display the words “Thank You”and they be encouraged to try their best to write it (If your student is not able to write letters yet they will skip this step). To conclude, students will be asked to draw a series of pictures to illustrate what they are thanking the recipient for. If time allows, students will be able to share their card with the class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, thank you for showing interest in my classes! My name is Alyssa Thurow and I received my Associates Degree in Business Administration in 2016. In addition to online teaching, I have been a substitute teacher for the last 3 years. Throughout the last three years I have worked with children of all ages teaching a variety of subjects. I have found through my experience that children can grasp a topic or life skill so much quicker through the use of visual aids and games. My ultimate goal for when students leave my class is that they learned skills that will help them further their educational journey while having a good time doing it. Throughout your student’s and I's time together, I plan to bring positive energy and enthusiasm that makes the student want to learn more. A little bit about me is that I have been married to my wonderful husband for 7 years. Recently we got our first puppy that has brought us a lot of joy and keeps us on our toes. I hope to see your student in class soon!
