Class Experience
Join us for weekly meetings over 6 weeks to read interesting nonfiction texts and improve your comprehension, fluency, and confidence. We'll cover six intriguing topics through interactive activities, discussions, and exercises. (Topics for the 18 week rotating Session 1: Ecosystems & Food Webs Landforms Matter Plant Cells Animal Cells Bodies of Water Session 2: Body Systems: Skin, Bones & Muscles Body Systems: Kidneys, Liver & Digestion Body Systems: Lungs, Heart &...
By the end of the class, you will have a deeper understanding of these fascinating topics and be better equipped to comprehend nonfiction passages across various subjects.
Experienced online educator, Robin, holds a Master's in Elementary Education (Math/Science) and a K-6 Teaching Certificate in Florida. With over 20 years of classroom experience and a passion for grades 3-5, Robin aims to foster curiosity, build confidence, and make learning enjoyable for all!
Any additional enrichment activities attached in the classroom will be optional.
Basic supplies may be needed for our lessons such as pencil, paper, scissors, and a ruler. Any attachments or supplies that will be needed will be posted in the classroom at least 24 hours before class. If you do not receive a message there will be no supplies needed other than the basic paper & pencil.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Informal assessment throughout the lesson via discussion.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Scissors may be used in one or more of these classes. Parental guidance is suggested while learners are using scissors. (Please note the Outschool safety policy to remain off-camera while assisting your learner.) Also, if time permits, we may use GIMKIT to reinforce class content.
Source material that may be needed for class will be attached in the classroom.
