Text Evidence Unlocked: 1-On-1 Comprehension Mastery Tutoring W/ Veteran Teacher

In this one-on-one tutoring class, learners will build mastery in reading comprehension through focused exploration of text evidence in literary and informational texts.

Students will learn how to analyze and interpret texts using text evidence, context clues, and sentence starters for citing examples to support their conclusions confidently.
The class covers essential reading skills such as identifying the main idea and supporting details, analyzing character, setting, tone, and theme, exploring cause and effect, comparing and contrasting, and understanding problem and solution. Other topics include distinguishing fact and opinion and making inferences.

 Each session begins with a brief overview of the day's topic and goals. It includes interactive activities such as games and exercises, guided text readings, and discussions, followed by a wrap-up to reflect on progress and set future goals. This class uses dynamic teaching methods, combining visual aids, text analysis exercises, interactive discussions, and games designed to reinforce key concepts.

My teaching style is patient, flexible, and supportive. Sessions are tailored to each learner's unique needs, including accommodations for ADHD and dyslexia. I focus on engaging the learner’s strengths and addressing challenges in a way that builds confidence and critical thinking.
