TESOL From the Heart: ESL Phonics & Blending/MASTERS: Counseling & TESOL Cert

In this ongoing ESL class, students aged 3 through 7 will learn phonics in a fun yet structured, tiered format. Beginner students are welcome, and no prior English skills are required. 

Classes will cover all the letters of the alphabet, leading up to blending sounds and learning sight words. These are interactive, cheerful lessons that include songs, games, and drawing. I use a reward system to help keep students motivated, and I also resource digital and real-world props to further integrate students' newly acquired information. These props are excellent for engaging students and sparking their imagination! The course is designed to be completed in weekly, half-hour sessions.

Each lesson will begin with a greeting, followed by singing the alphabet and reviewing the previous sounds and words we have recently learned. Next, students will be introduced to the current week's phonetic sounds and associated words through the use of a variety of interactive media such as games, songs, and drawing. We will be working with the sounds and words while also reinforcing correct answers with various in-class rewards. At the end of the class, we will say goodbye to one another and look forward to the following week.
