Class Experience

In this one-time class, we will read stories like "Ten on a Sled" by Kim Norman and "A Loud Winter's Nap", by Katie Hudson make predictions about what happens as the animals go on their adventures, play a game retelling the story (with printables provided) share about our favorite animal characters from the stories we read and play snow-themed number and letter recognition games.

Little learners can build great listening, observation and creative thinking skills during storytime, asking...

Students will listen to stories and ask and answer questions throughout the readings, practice taking turns talking, listening and sharing observations about the animals in the stories. We will also work our fine motor and story retelling skills creating our own animals' sled and practice letter and number recognition too.

  1 file available upon enrollment
Print out the attached printables and cut apart the animals and the sled before class ( a 5-10 minute pre-class task ... hence the Outside Class work note)  We will work together putting all the animals on our sled and watch them fall off one by one as we read the story remembering who tumbled off first and last.

35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

Because of the age of the class I recommend a grown up be within "ear-shot" to help with any technical hiccups (mic and video) that might come up.
