Come engage in a timeless Dr. Seuss tale of Ten Apples Up on Top! Students will engage in the reading of Ten Apples Up on Top! Students will learn/practice counting from 1-10 forwards and backwards and learn how to write each number. Students will use playdough to form number shapes. They will also roll playdough into apple balls that we will try to stack on top of their desk, their head and their hand. Can they stack them all on top and not let one drop? Then they will use a handout and stack different amounts of apples on top of characters' heads using markers/crayons as they practice counting. They will count apples on the tree and fill in graph. Last students will learn a fun song about apples.
Learning Goals
Students will work on motor skills by rolling apples out of playdough, stacking them, and placing them on top of characters' heads. They will learn/practice counting and number recognition of numbers 1-10 by forming the numbers from playdough and practice putting a certain amount of apples in a line.

Teacher expertise and credentials
.I am a mother of 3, grandmother of 7. I am a lifelong resident of Arkansas and make my home near Little Rock. I graduated high school and attended some college. Since that time, I have pursued and received other certificates and licensure.
I was a school bus driver for 20 years, substitute teacher, tutor, and help with home schooling my grandchildren. My husband and I own and operate a logging and sawmill business.
I enjoy helping children find the joy in learning rather than endure the drudgery of learning. They learn more if they are able to ask questions, contribute ideas and information. We are all learners with different learning styles, interest, and rate of retention and can benefit by interacting with those around us. Learning is important but should be enjoyed as well. Children need to be encouraged and feel success in learning. This makes the learning process more enjoyable for both child and parent.
I enjoy history, social studies, science, reading, math and other subjects. I think the building blocks of education are phonetics, grammar, reading comprehension, and math. Once these are mastered anything is possible. Learning is fun!!
If there’s a subject or skill your child has a particular need of or interest in I’d love to help.
