In this lesson, learners will be engaged in lesson that will teach them how to tell time to the half hour. As an introduction, we will briefly go over telling time to the hour and the different parts of an analog clock (minute hand, hour hand, clock face). After this brief review, we will then dive into the focus of the class which will be telling time to the half hour. Learners will be able to use their own clock printout that I will provide to manipulate the hour hand and minute hand. Students will also practice reading and showing time to the hour and half hour on analog and digital clocks. I will provide learners with some "Time Riddles" in which they will have to solve in order to check for understanding.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their understanding of telling time to the hour and half hour on both analog and digital clocks.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and thank you for stopping by.
My name is Nicole Brower. I have been teaching full time for 17 years as an elementary school teacher. I am certified for K-8 but my heart has always been in elementary grades (k-2).
I specialize in teaching young learners various reading strategies that focus on reading fluency, reading comprehension as well as getting young mathematicians excited for math.
Throughout my years of teaching, I have collaborated in revising the English Language Arts Curriculum for our very large school district.
I have taught first and second-grade students as well as tutoring English online to students living in China for the past year and a half.
I equip students with strategies to become independent learners as well as enjoy learning.
As a teacher for 17 years and as a mom, I understand that every student is unique and learns in many different ways, but I know all students can and want to learn - I feel It is my responsibility to ensure that happens.
Education and developing young minds is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding jobs a person can have in my opinion. I believe in fun and engaging learning so much. I have also co-created an educational YouTube Channel where my two young daughters are a part of this process as well.
