Have you ever told someone something that wasn't true because you thought it'd be funny? It's our friend's birthday, and he is super excited for his special day! Unfortunately, he wanted to be funny, and told his family a bunch of untruths. Will he actually get what he wanted for his birthday now? Join me, the author and illustrator of Seaweed Cake: A Social Story, as I read you this vibrant, colorful story about the importance of telling the truth. We will make connections to the consequences of telling untruths, and how it may make others and ourselves feel. I will lead students in guided discussions about the pictures and facial expressions in the story, and help them to make connections to their real lives. When we are done reading the story, we will play a fun game "Two Truths and a Lie" to solidify the concept of truths and lies. You will receive a digital copy of this book after the class is completed.
