US Grade 1 - 3
This class follows "Tell Time on an Analog and Digital Clock While Exploring the Day of a Zookeeper!", where we learned the parts of a clock and time on the hour, half hour. Students should be familiar with these concepts before taking this class. The students will review time on the hour and half hour. They will learn time on the quarter hour (quarter past, half past, quarter to) on both a digital and analog clock. They will also learn time on 5-minute intervals. They will understand that a day is made up of 24 hours and become familiar with AM and PM. I will teach time by using physical clocks. We will practice changing the clock and reading time on both the analog and digital clock. I will then use interactive, animated slides to reinforce the lesson. We will explore the day in the life of a farmer. What time does he wake up? Gather the eggs? Feed the chickens? etc. We will be changing the clock as we bring his day on the farm to life. This class will be interactive, animated and fun. Let's meet all of the animals on the farm as we read time throughout the day.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College
Hello! My name is Erin Howard. I love teaching young learners. My passion is to help your young learner gain the knowledge and confidence in their basic math skills. My math classes focus on skills such as solving word problems, learning math fact families, place value, telling time, geometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
I have my bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College. I have owned a home daycare, privately tutored students in math, and was a teaching assistant in college. I have taught over 8,000 classes online.
My goal is to bring fun, excitement, and passion into my classroom. It is important for young learners to be engaged, actively participate, and enjoy learning. This builds the foundation of how they will view their journey for knowledge in the future. I know I have accomplished this goal when my students continue to return to my classroom, and I see their personal improvement and how proud they are of their progress.
Outside of work, I am a mother of five children, and I have three grandchildren. My children are my pride and joy. My youngest two children are twins. They are nineteen years old and they are sophomores in college. We enjoy cooking, baking, playing with our dog, watching movies, shopping, and taking trips to visit new places.
I look forward to this journey with you and your young learner. I will see you in the classroom.
