Description
Class Experience
"Tell Me Something Good: Writing, Storytelling and Finding Your Own Voice" is a course designed to show children how to become great storytellers by learning the basics of creative thinking, writing and speaking. It will be highly engaging and interactive as each student will discover how to come up with ideas for a story, how to put those ideas down on paper and then how to share them with others. Through Zoom, we will connect and interact with each other both individually and as a group....
This course will promote the power of positive thinking, encouraging others and individual growth. Students will gain confidence in their newfound abilities to use their "Go Brain" and voice to share positive stories with friends, family and each other. The next time you ask them: "tell me something good...", they most certainly will be able to!
I am offering this course because I've had the pleasure to work with kids over the past decade -- as a teacher, journalist and in-school assembly performer -- on the power of positive storytelling and creative writing. Helping kids shape ideas into stories that they can then "show and tell" to others is a mutually beneficial and rewarding activity. And one that they can positively use for the rest of their lives!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
