In this one-time class, students will practice their story-telling skills and stretch their imagination by using a deck of winter-themed picture cards to guide their story. In the beginning of the class, we will get to know each other by discussing what we love about winter. Then, we will be introduced to the deck of story-telling picture cards using a document camera. I will draw 3 cards and create a short story that I tell off the top of my head. After, I will draw a new three cards....
Students will practice short story skills, such as plot, character, and setting development.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
