Class Experience

I love reading short stories. Nothing beats an author getting straight to the point in a story I can even fit into my busy afternoons. 

This class helps students learn some necessary skills for writing short stories. 

In the first class, students will work through skills related to brainstorming. We will cover concept mapping, believable characters, avoiding stereotypes, crafting plots, and organically addressing concepts. This helps students think through their method of starting to write...

Students will be able to develop their short-story writing ability and share their work in a positive, encouraging environment.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Bible Exposition and Theology and a Master's of Theology (Thm) with an emphasis on Creative Writing. These degrees require extensive work in literature analysis, as well as learning ancient Greek/Hebrew. Though my college did not offer a degree in English, I have taken 40 credits in literature and creative writing courses, the equivalent of classes for English program requirements at most universities.

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
